About Our 6 Week Session Courses

Beginner I: Our six-week session is designed to give the beginning student a solid background of basic glassblowing techniques. Students will learn to create a variety of shapes including: paperweights, ornaments, cups, bowls and more. With each new shape, students will refine their skills at gathering glass onto the rod, shaping it with various tools, and adding basic color applications to glass. Hot shop safety, etiquette and proper form are all stressed throughout each lesson. For more information, click here.

Beginner II: Our six-week session is designed to give the continuing beginner student a solid background of more advanced glassblowing techniques. Students will learn to work together and create their own glass artwork. Concenration will be placed on refining skills such as: shaping glass, forming puntys, adding bitwork and more advanced color applications. For more information, click here.

Intermediate/Advanced: Our six-week session is designed to give students a solid background of more advanced glassblowing techniques. Students will learn to work together and create their own glass artwork. Concenration will be placed on refining skills such as: advanced bitwork, using the garage to form multiple part glass pieces and complex color applications. Materials & Resources

Beginner I tuition includes all materials required for glassblowing. Students enrolled in Beginner I will be provided with student color and basic glassblowing tools for use during the session.

Continuing students (Beginner II and up) are required to purchase their own glass color, dichro, and specialty tools. Hot Glass Color & Supply is located on-site for your conveneince. We hope that you consider purchasing your glassblowing color and materials directly from Hot Glass Color & Supply.

Hot Glass Color & Supply has student packs available for purchase which are comprised of a variety of different transparent colors to work with.

Glassblowing Glasses

Hot Glass Color & Supply also has a variety of Phillips Safety Glasses available for purchase. All frame styles come with your choice of lens inserts. Custom order prescription glasses are aslo available upon request. Please contact Hot Glass Color directly for current lead times.
